When you board this Dick Carter designed, Olympic Yachts built sailing yacht, your first impression is that she is an extremely sturdy and stable boat, designed to go places in safety and comfort, and, with 4 Fastnet campaigns under her belt, she has more than proved her worth.
She was originally built as a contender for the 1973 Admirals Cup and since then has had three owners with the current since 1982. During her life she has had several expensive refits and more recently her flush decks have been topped with Flexi Teak throughout. Her lime green hull results in a stunning appearance, particularly when under full sail and is therefore quite a head turner!
The Carter 39 is considered a classic with a build standard to match, her racing and cruising history is proof of that. As with all older boats, there are always areas which benefit from improvement or upgrading and this boat would certainly benefit from some TLC below and new instrumentation.
