Hello from Boatshed Kent. My name is Suzzanne McDonald and I am delighted that you have found your way to my business pages. Let me take this opportunity to tell you a bit about myself.

I joined Boatshed nearly three years ago. I entered by starting the Boatshedmedway Yacht Brokerage. As the name suggests, this was a brokerage which was based on the River Medway in Kent. I have built this business up from scratch and whilst there is still a lot left to complete, we have become well known at a Local, National and International Level. In the summer of 2008 I was given the opportunity of taking over the Boatshedkent Brokerage. For me it was a natural extension and a great opportunity. The County of Kent has some very well known harbours including Dover, Ramsgate and the Swale. We are close to the continent of mainland europe and our position means that we receive many visitors from abroad. People visit the area via the Channel connections or airports in the London area.

Many of my boats have been sold to customers from abroad and I still remain in contact with people from Russia, Austria, Germany, Poland, Malta and Nigeria... to name but a few.

I have always had an interest in boating but to be frank, during my adult life, this interest has been spread against other matters including work and raising a family. Before starting the Boatshedkent Brokerage I had a career in general business management and most recently I managed the development of a successful steelworks. I started the Boatshedkent Yacht Brokerage as I saw it as an opportunity to use my business skills for something that I was passionate about. For me its not only about finding the right boat but its also about finding a boat for the right owner. Lets hope that 2012 will be an Olympic year for used boat sales!
