Broker's Comments

Preliminary Details: awaiting confirmation by owner. Built 107 years ago ! Originally, built for oyster dredging on the River Fal. Latterly, after re-builds, used for serious competition. This 24 foot open boat will carry up to 1000 sq.ft of sail. The Falmouth Working Boats are powerful craft and their heavily constructed hulls carry impressively big rig loads. The 18 foot long low boom and low cut fore sails flown from a 12 foot bowsprit make for exciting sailing with some pretty scary blind spots ! Rarely for sale, Falmouth Working Boats are sought after racing machines. This one needs a minor repair to the transom and this will be undertaken by a time served shipwright before she is sold.
