This not a marque with which I’m terribly familiar, and I was wondering what to expect. What I found was a rather nice-looking family cruiser in a good state of repair. Enter through the rather smart canopy, and you find yourself in a good-sized centre cockpit, with substantial companionway hatchways fore and aft. The latter leads into the aft cabin: quite small, but a great little self-contained den that kids would want to claim as their own territory. The cockpit itself incorporates the helm station, with a comprehensive battery of instruments and controls. The cockpit sole comes up to allow access to the big Volvo straight six diesel engine, driving a shaft-mounted propeller. Double wooden doors and a lifting hatch, a similar arrangement to the aft cabin entrance, leads into a roomy saloon. An infill in the forepeak seating provides one double berth; if necessary, the saloon table can drop into the big U-shaped seating area to form another. There is a decent- sized heads and a generous linear galley on the port side. On deck, fittings look substantial and there are handholds everywhere that, together with the wide flat deck areas, allows the crew to move around outside with confidence – reassuring if you have kids on board.
