Boatshed have teamed up with professional drone photographers AltiVision to offer a completely new perspective on boats for sale. Launching the products at the PSP Southampton Boat Show, Neil Chapman commented “We have previously done some aerial photography of boats but helicopters and light aircraft make the costs prohibitive. By utilising drones, we hope we are able to bring this service to many people selling their boats with Boatshed”.

Today saw me at the survey of the biggest boat we here at Boatshed Norfolk have sold to date, a stunning Fairline 50 luxury cruiser. Yesterday we carried out the Sea trials with an engineer from Broom Boats on board which went very well. The buyer had commissioned Steve Truss of Insight marine Surveys to carry out the full pre purchase survey report on his behalf. It is a very rewarding experience to sell such a prestigious boat and hopefully this will lead to us gaining a larger share of this market without losing sight of the typical Broads cruisers that have been our bread and butter over the past 7 years.
Last week saw Keith and myself in Horning on the Norfolk Broads with a film crew making a movie. The director (John Stanley) had called to ask if we could think of a suitable "period" vessel" and ideally a suitable backdrop. I had met John 2 years ago when he was looking for a boat for himself.
Boatshed goes Responsive! Today, nearly 30% of Boatshed's traffic is mobile. By the end of next year, this may exceed 50% Tablet sales are expected to exceed 100 million this year. Smartphones, of course, are also a hot commodity, with the majority of people now owning a smartphone. The shift to mobile is happening at an extraordinary speed. For those of us who create the Boatshed websites and services, all this leads to a singular conclusion: A million screens have bloomed, and we need to build websites that work better on all of them.
Before you travel to view a boat, check out all pictures and video of every boat for sale. Our brokers take all their own pictures so you can see the up to date information and full inventory of each boat.
If you are thinking of selling your boat, then have a chat to one of our Boatshed Brokers and they will explain how Boatshed can help sell your boat and what they will do for you.
Today saw me on the Southern Broads carrying out a handover on a rather special Hampton Safari. "Osprey" is one of only 2 built for private customers that has never been in a hire fleet. She is in stunning condition, the pictures show the previous owner John with new owners Malcolm and Ailsa. This really is one of the most rewarding aspects of selling boats.
Today was survey day for me here at Boatshed Norfolk. We had a Beneteau oceanis 321 being surveyed over in Wisbech and a rather unusual Norman 266 Wide Beam surveyed by Steve Truss of Insught Marine Surveys. I'm happy to say both went very well as you can see in the picture of the Norman along with previous and new owner on board after survey. ,
