Broker's Comments

The Yole, up until the 1960’s, was the main form of transport in the Orkney Islands. Used for the transport of people from island to island, animals to and from market and consumer goods, as well as to fish from, the Yole was an integral part of Island life. This new built Yole was designed and built by two very talented Norfolk boat builders. Using the traditional design this craft was constructed from the keel up without any consideration to cost control. She has had 5 coats of West System 207 inside and out and that was before the five coats of paint. A true ‘one off’ that will really set her owner apart from anybody else out on the water. If this craft was to be constructed again using the same high quality material and was priced according to the hours spent on her, then her true price would be much higher. Her builders have confirmed that if outboard power is required they will make an outboard bracket. We can supply any make of outboard if required.
