All steel multichine cutter with aft cockpit. 6 chines either side with 18mm longitudinal roundbar on each chine. Frames, 50mm/6mm flat bar, spaced 450mm apart 25 frames in all. Keel 3/4 length, sole thickness 20mm, sides 5mm. Ballast approx. 3 tons pig iron encapsulated. Bottom 3 underwater chines, 5mm corten steel, top 3 chines and decks, 3mm mild steel.

This 1986 built to last Sea Trader 38 Cutter live aboard is a solid sea servant which will take you off on adventures all around the globe.
Designed by E.R.Barnes in South Africa, date of the last survey was 2001
She has good accommodations with a total of five berths one double and three single.
The knowledgeable owner has told about its wonderful sea adventures all around the world.
The engine is a sturdy 35-40 hp VW Petter 1500 cc which will return a healthy 2-3 litres per hour.
The main and head sail are eight years old with the mast being aluminium, both sails are manufactured by Hoods with standing rigging being re-placed in 2003 which does need to be re-oiled.
There are some engine spares together with a new reel of standing rigging.
