The Fulmar is widely thought of as one of the best boats Westerly ever produced – fast, solid, seamanlike, capable and comfortable. Many sea schools used to use them as teaching boats, a testament to the fact that they were the epitome of what a good cruising yacht should be. They made 430 Fulmar 32’s, and just 18 Fulmar 33’s, of which this yacht is believed to be the second to last, built in 1996. The difference? She has a sugar-scoop stern and Westerly reverted to the standard layout, with a generous quarter berth and “conventional" saloon and forecabin.
The saloon table could be used for Strictly Come Dancing as a spare dance floor, and they wouldn’t have to polish it, it’s gleaming already! This boat has been in the same ownership from new – the owner even has some photos of her under construction.
I was practically brought up in Westerlys, and it was just like coming home to be aboard this lovely yacht. You really ought to ring me and arrange to come and see her – and if you’ll take my advice, the sooner the better!
