This yacht is one of the three known remaining Belfast Lough O.D (class A) designed by by Wm Fife III for the Royal Ulster Yacht club and built by Hilditch at Carrigfergus in 1897.

So, she's an old girl with lovely lines. More than that, she is a rare old girl and an important historical yacht.

The is an extensive history written by the current owner and documented on www.whimbrelforsale.co.uk

She has undergone a fairly extensive rebuild but like all these yachts, the urge is to go sailing, so, she is a work in progress.

The current sloop rig was built and stepped in 2004 to help with handling but the gaff rig has been stored to allow her to be returned to her original sail plan.

Its been said many times before that one never owns these yachts but simply act as their custodian. It is now time for someone else to fall in love with this lovely Fife and take her under their wing.

She can continue to be sailed and raced in classic yacht regattas with ongoing annual maintenance... or ... if you have deep pockets, she could be handed over to the care of a specialist yard for a complete refit which would bring her back to concours condition.

The choice is yours.
