Tim from Boatshed Brighton really made sure buying our yacht was pain free. We don't live near Brighton, so the idea of a long distance purchase initially seemed daunting. We didn't need to worry though, because through Tim's communication, we knew exactly what was happening at all times. If you're buying a boat, then I would really recommend Tim. I bought my boat my boat; a very smart and pretty 1963 wooden Folkboat; in early December 2016 from the Boatshed Poole/Lymington Yacht Brokerage. I first saw the boat via an on line search and I had been looking for a good well priced wooden Folkboat for some time. The staff at Boatshed; Andrea and Jane; were very helpful and informative and soon arranged for me to view the boat with the owner. I instantly fell in love with her and arranged a test sail with the owner, which only went to confirm what a fine boat she was. Once the sale was agreed with the owner Boatshed were very helpful and made all the necessary arrangements for the transfer of funds and arranging a suitable collection time with the owner and completing all the necessary paper work. I would recommend Boatshed to anyone looking for friendly service and informative staff who have an obvious love of boats and all things sailing.

Buying a new boat is supposed to be a pleasure but we were finding the process difficult and frustrating in trying to buy our Larson from the local dealership who had it on brokerage. Having near enough given up we found that Boatshed Poole were also listing the actual boat that we wanted. Boatsheds Will West was able to reopen negotiations with the owner and successfully agree terms of purchase. We now have our boat. Personally I think that the success of this transaction was totally down to Wills tenacity, forebearance and good temper in dealing with both sides, plus having to manage the main dealers who had failed previously and were disinterested in helping anybody to proceed. Unless Will had persisted, to get over the hurdles placed in his way, then the vendor would not have sold his boat and we could not have purchased it. We recommend Will West and Boatshed for going the extra mile and taking a full professional interest in the needs and demands of both parties to achieve what everybody set out to do. Hi David, I was pleased by the speed with which the boat sold and that is my main point. I was also glad you found a serious buyer and not just a tyre-kicker. The data on the comprehensive range of contacts you made to promote the boat was useful background but clearly not as important as my first two points. So I would summarise in decreasing order of importance to me as: - speedy sale of boat - contact with serious buyers - very comprehensive list of potential buyers to market to. Hope this helps.
