Broker's Comments

This 47ft traditional long keel sailing ketch is of steel construction.

The design is the 'Embrun' by Amiet of France and she was built in 1983 / 84 by Robertson McNaught and Co Limited in Dyfed - West Wales.

She has a steel hull, deck and superstructure which was grit blasted and metal sprayed by Croft Marine of Stratford Upon Avon. The bulkheads are 2.3mm plated steel.

Some of the features of this boat are: 6ft Bowsprit, keel hung rudder, kemp alloy masts and stainless steel rigging.

The Perkins 4.108 4 cylinder diesel engine has recently had a top end overhaul and new injectors.

She has previously been used by the London school of Navigation for Ocean training and has sailed in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and to South Africa.

The current owner has also sailed across the Bay of Biscay in a severe storm and he advised she performed very well in these extreme conditions; she is immensely strong and a stable platform, an ideal boat for long ocean voyages.

The boat has been stored ashore for several years and the current owner has been slowly restoring her to her former glory ready for world sailing, but unfortunately circumstances have changed and the owner would like to see her sold to a new owner that has the same vision to restore this boat and then use as she was intended.

The original sails do exist but the owner recommends they should be replaced, although they may still be usable.

The photos show the current condition and the work that is required to complete the project.

The project should not be underestimated in terms of time and money, but it would be great to see this boat once again sailing the seas (see photo of Boat sailing ).

Hi , she certainly is worth the effort/expense .
The spec says Wheel Steering but all that is shown is a steel box section tiller, is there wheel steering or not?
Also how long has she been paid up for on the hard.

from what I see this is tiller steering?
The pictures are close range and give poor perspective on the interior.
do you have better pictures?
do you have inventory of sails and equipment included?
Thank you
