Broker's Comments

The Drifter is the largest of the Drascombe range to benefit from a cabin. Beamier and heavier than the better known Coaster, she is more of a trailable boat than a trailer sailer, although some keen skippers do regularly trail theirs. The Drifter has a comfortable cabin for two, with two more berths available in the cockpit (tent not included). The huge cockpit makes her ideal for day sailing with friends and family and her exceptionally versatile yawl rig can handle anything up to a force 8 (in sheltered waters). With her long keel and bilge fins she takes the ground without complication and though not the closest winded of vessels a reliable and frugal four stroke motor punches to windward with the steadying mizzen reducing any tendency to roll. The Drifter is so easily handled that with a little attention to sail trim she will steer herself to windward and can even motor hands off by careful adjustment of the mizzen sheet. All in all, the perfect coastal weekender for singlehanding and family sailing. Her sheltered drying mooring may be purchased separately if required. Her trailer has just been serviced and will go any distance. The boat is now lying ashore.
