Broker's Comments

Here we have a very tidy and well-equipped example of the beautiful Norfolk Gypsy Trailer sailor.

The Norfolk Gypsy is a well respected traditional gaff rig sailing vessel that offers a classic design but constructed with modern quality materials and craftsmanship.

They are a very solid build and offer good flexibility of use with a lowering mast and diesel motor. They are both very charming to look at and rewarding to sail.

The Gypsy has a lot to offer with a large comfortable cockpit with incredible storage using every possible space, 5 large lockers in total with teak grate floor and a good suite of electronics that include Raymarine ST 40 Bi-Data Speed and depth unit, ST 40 wind/direction and a very useful ST1000 tiller pilot.

They offer superb flexibility of operation in many waters from coastal to shallow rivers thanks to her winch operated lifting centre keel and lifting rudder. She also benefits from a transom mounted extending stainless steel boarding ladder.

The very economical Yanmar diesel engine is very useful for when motoring is your choice.

This particular boat is hull no. 74, and was built in 1996 and is very well presented in original gelcoat. The current owner has invested around £4k having all the woodwork on the boat renovated and reworked last year by the builder and this shows as all the wood throughout the vessel just glows. The wood is oiled so making ongoing maintenance very quick and easy. This extensive work also included the mast, spars and bowsprit which was fully reworked primed and varnished to a very high standard.

The cabin area is very cosy and equipped with all you should need for a day afloat. She has excellent joinery throughout and a small galley to port with manual water system and small basin and working area. This boat employs a small single burner cartridge gas hob to make a hot drink or meal while out.

To starboard there is a nice sized nav station with a new and unused porta-potti concealed beneath. The rest of the cabin is dedicated to the twin berths which are trimmed in a maroon/burgundy vinyl and appear to be in excellent condition. These berths also act as the main seating in the cabin and the large swivel table (that can swivel out of the way fully forward) is a very useful feature and helps maximise the use of the space at hand.

There are also further storage lockers under the berths and these are all fully finished gelcoat storage bins with lids.

The main electrics panel and keel winch can be found just at the side of the companionway. The current owner has added a modern chart plotter to the vessel and this has its cockpit mount attached to the centre cockpit step on the underside meaning you just flip the step over to use, which is a nice touch.

The boat has matching covers for almost everything from rudder to cockpit etc and shows the love and thought that this owner and her previous owners have lavished on this standout little boat.

The package is completed with a Bramber galvanised break-back road trailer with covered spare wheel and lighting board, making this a package that you can go to many different cruising locations to explore and enjoy.

If you are looking for a beautiful and well equipped Norfolk Gypsy then this boat is very much one of the nicest you will find and represents very good value, quality sailing.
