Broker's Comments
Here we have a pretty and very tidy example of the sought-after Macgregor 26M Trailer sailor.
These boats offer the pleasures of a good sized and capable sailing boat with the added benefit of being a 25 knot motor cruiser when required. She is offered on a twin axle trailer which is included in the asking price. If the trailer is not required this can be discussed. The trailer appears to be in good condition but should be inspected by a competent person before use.
The boat offers a very good size and space compromise while still being towable and is a very tidy craft with mainsail, furling jib and a spinnaker.
Her mast and rigging have just been replaced this year with a full set of "Z Spars" aluminium mast and stainless rigging which was all fitted in Feb 2023.
She has a nice Yamaha 50hp 4 stroke power trim and tilt outboard that can propel her to 25knots when the mast is down and she is configured as a motor cruiser.
She has a large cockpit with central control binnacle with chart plotter and helm controls and the cockpit leather seating is in good condition. There is ample storage in the cockpit.
Internally she is a very comfortable and spacious place to spend time and is well equipped with a small but functional galley with a small 2 burner hob and a moulded sink unit with storage under.
She comes with a portable shore power unit and battery charger and the engine also charges the two batteries. The boat comes with an electric cool box / fridge. Her saloon is comfortable and trimmed in tan leather and converts to a berth. She has a large aft double berth and a good sized forward berth too which gives a flexible layout. She has a small private heads compartment with porta potti.
These are well respected and flexible boats that can be towed by many family cars as she weighs about 1200kg, and can be quickly configured and so gives great options for a day afloat depending on what type of boating you wish to do on the day. These are efficient sailors and or motor cruisers with a simple water ballasting system and a quick lowering mast making her easy to manage and re configure quickly while on the move. The fast lowering mast makes low bridges easy to handle. Her twin rudders and lowering centre board fill with water when in operation to give a light and neutral feel.
The motor is serviced and has only done about 300 hours. She is presented in Gelcoat and appears to be in very nice order throughout.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
